Booster Set Upgrade – University of Bristol
Location: Bristol
Client: University of Bristol
Service: Booster Set Upgrade & Inverter Replacement
Sector: Commercial / Education
The Challenge
We were called out to the University of Bristol following a booster set failure affecting system performance.
Upon inspection, it became clear the issue was with the existing inverters, which were 15–20 years old and had reached the end of their operational life.
Continuing to repair ageing components would have resulted in ongoing reliability issues and increased downtime.
Our Solution
Rather than applying a temporary fix, we carried out a full inverter upgrade, bringing the booster set up to modern standards.
This ensures improved performance, better efficiency, and long-term reliability for the system.
Works Carried Out
✔ Diagnosed inverter failure on site
✔ Isolated and removed outdated inverter units
✔ Installed new, high-efficiency inverter drives
✔ Rewired and integrated with existing booster system
✔ Fully tested and recommissioned system
✔ Verified performance and system stability
The Result
A complete upgrade that restored functionality and improved system performance across the board.
✔ System fully operational
✔ Improved efficiency and control
✔ Reduced risk of breakdowns
✔ Future-proofed system for long-term use
Why Upgrade Instead of Repair?
When equipment reaches 15–20+ years old, repairs can become:
- Costly and frequent
- Inefficient in performance
- Unreliable in critical environments
Upgrading key components like inverters ensures:
- Better energy efficiency
- Improved system control
- Long-term reliability
