The Challenge
NT Cloke Pumps & Water received an emergency call-out after a complete loss of water supply across a four-block student accommodation site, affecting hundreds of residents. On arrival, we found an ageing and heavily modified booster set riddled with faults, along with outdated fusion-welded plastic pipework.
Our Emergency Response
- Quickly dispatched an available engineer to the site
- Assessed the faulty booster system
- Temporarily restored water by getting 2 out of 4 pumps operational
- Carried out a full inspection and provided recommendations for a new booster set and complete pipework upgrade
The Long-Term Solution
After consultation, the client approved a full system upgrade. We designed and installed:
- A Triple Pump Booster Set with improved reliability and performance
- Copper press-fit pipework, chosen for durability and future serviceability
- Full mechanical and electrical installation, including insulation and commissioning
- A temporary bypass during works to minimise water downtime
Results
✅ Reliable water pressure restored for all accommodation blocks
✅ Safer, more maintainable copper pipework installed
✅ Outdated system fully replaced and futureproofed
✅ Minimal disruption to site operations
