High-Pressure Vessel Replacement – Manchester Apartment Block

The Challenge
During a routine service visit, our engineers discovered that all three vessels on the site’s high-pressure booster set had completely failed. The vessels were waterlogged with zero air charge, and diaphragm failure meant they couldn’t be drained. To complicate matters, the existing isolation valves were non-functional, making both routine servicing and emergency isolation impossible.
The system was operating at 14.5 bar, requiring precise and safe handling.
Our Solution
NT Cloke returned with a long-term upgrade plan, delivering a safer and more serviceable installation:
- Replaced 3 failed vessels with 2 larger vessels rated to 25 bar
- Installed flow-through combination isolation and drain valves
- Capped the centre isolation point to make the system safe
- Charged and recommissioned the vessels
- Completed a full booster set service on site
Results
✅ System restored to full working order
✅ Pressure vessels now safe and compliant
✅ Future maintenance will be faster, safer, and more efficient
